Andrew Hughes | Category: The Church Community; Announcements Involvement in the church community isn't a litmus test of holiness. However, jumping in with both feet is a great way to grow and be sharpened by others around you. Maybe you've found yourself saying, "I just wish people would reach out to me more" or "I wish I felt more connected to others and what's going on." Well, the best way to start is by jumping in! Don't wait for someone else to push you in. A couple months after I first started attending 3RG back in 2011, I was stopped on the way out the door by Scott Kocher, who was greeting people as they left, and he invited me to a fellowship cook-out at his house. He said, "You should come tonight." At that point I didn't really know anyone very deeply and I thought to myself, "We really should go." That night, our family accomplished relationally what would have taken us, probably, 6 months to do with just the short interactions on Sunday morning. That experience always serves as a reminder to me about the importance of intentional friendly greetings from others (which each of you are so faithful at) but also the importance of plugging into things versus sitting on the sidelines.
That said, here are some excellent ways you can get involved at 3RG in 2014!
