Gifts entail grace. And the fact that something is a gift indicates that it’s not about us in the first place. It’s something given to us. That’s grace.
As recipients, we are simply stewards. Administrators. We have nothing to give another than that which we have received from God. So, what are you and I possibly attempting to take credit for or ownership of that belongs to God, right now?
Calvin stated, “We do not give our own, but only dispense what God has committed to us.”
We are not to become bloated reservoirs just stockpiling grace, but rather conduits, through which grace continually flows.
We are managers of God’s gifts, not owners.
